| Laurelton-Pardee Intermediate School, Science Workshop Rochester Science Teachers Annual Conference 2009 |
The Laurelton-Pardee Intermediate School, will be presenting a workshop on a topic called Bugscope. Bugscope is a project through the University of Chicago. During that hour time slot, the teacher is allowed to use Bugscope's electron microscope via the internet. The "bugs or insects," viewed, are sent to Bugscope a week prior to the assigned time. Magnifying and navigating the field of view is an unbelievable experience. The best part is that persons from all over the world can view the action and scientists there can answer any questions that students and teachers may have about their "bugs." This may be of interest to teachers and educators in the Rochester NY area.

| Westchester Medical Center High School Internship/Summer Programs |
Westchester Medical Center depends on volunteers to provide assistance for the patients, their families and hospital staff.
Volunteers participating in the high school internship programs are required to commit a minimal three hours per volunteer shift (three to four days a week.) for 20 weeks. The internship program at the hospital starts twice a year, in September and January. The application deadline for the September program is May 1. The application for the January program is October 1. |
